It refers to a deliberate process of becoming aware of self, opportunities, choice, and consequences, identifying career-related goals, and working to attain career goals.

It is a process of preparing, implementing and monitoring career plans undertaken by the individual alone or in concert with the organization’s career systems.

  6. Progress toward the goal
  7. Feedback from work and non-work sources
